Mayank Yadav’s outstanding effort against PBKS, which included nine 150+ scorchers, three wickets, and an IPL 2024 record, altered the destiny of LSG.

The Punjab Kings overcame their chase of 200 wickets because to captain Shikhar Dhawan’s graceful half-century and Jonny Bairstow’s explosive start during the powerplay, which marked his IPL 2024 debut. The opening team for PBKS put together a 102-run stand in 70 balls, seemingly on their way to their second win of the year.

However, the Lucknow Super Giants had an alternative plan. LSG unleashed the much-heralded speedster Rummy East just when things were looking good for the visitors at Ekana Stadium. As LSG pulled off an amazing comeback at home to win the 2024 Indian Premier League, Yadav struck an astounding 155.8 kmph delivery during his middle-over stint and captured three wickets.

Mayank was brought on on Saturday in Betway during the tenth over of the second innings. The rookie, who was LSG’s first player, made a big impression despite missing the entire Ranji Trophy season due to injury. Though the world of cricket was taken aback by the speed gun reading of 150 kmph on one of his opening two deliveries, it was evident from the apparent view of his deliveries that he was quick.

When he was being battered, Dhawan looked crazy against the length ball, but Mayank delivered the quickest delivery of the 2024 IPL in the first ball of the 12th over. With a velocity of 155.8 kmph, he made the fastest outing in competition history.

Bairstow misplayed the pull towards Marcus Stoinis at deep mid-wicket after two deliveries, which let Mayank take his maiden IPL wicket with a shorter ball on middle and leg. When he returned for his third over, he eliminated Prabhsimran Singh with a similar delivery. When the PBKS batter raced into the draw shot, Naveen-ul-Haq took the lead at mid-on. Mayank ended his spell with three wickets in four deliveries, having removed Jitesh Sharma similarly in his final over, with Naveen making another catch at mid-wicket.

Mohsin Khan dealt further damage in the following over, taking two wickets, and Punjab was unable to recover. After being reduced to 178 for five, Dafabet eventually overcame the visitors by 21 runs.

I never thought it would launch so strongly. felt anxious before to the game. I attempted to keep up my pace, aiming toward the stumps. Player of the Match winner Mayank said, “I was thinking about using slower ones, but I stuck to the quick ones.”
